MARTHA G. SHAW
Martha Geddings Shaw, 84, wife of 63 years to Harvey Daniel Shaw, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at Palmetto Health Richland, Columbia.
Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Ollie Geddings and the late Ola Geddings Geddings. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she was a choir member for more than 60 years.
Surviving are her husband of Sumter; four sons, Daniel "Danny" Shaw and wife, Julia, of Spartanburg, Harold Glenn "Willie" Shaw and wife, Faye, of Lee County, Tony Deryl Shaw and Gary Samuel Shaw, both of Spartanburg; four sisters, Wilma Barkley, Alleen Geddings and Christina Geddings, all of Sumter, Essie Osteen and husband, J.W., of Aiken; a brother, Oscar Geddings and wife, Lila, of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace Geddings and Levy Geddings.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's United Methodist Church at Spring Hill. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home at Red Hill.
