Born on Sept. 13, 1941, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Plum D. and Ethel Lorine Troublefield Warner. He was a singer and recording artist and worked with CMA/Fan Fair. Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Bales (Shannon) and Shannon Perry, both of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Austin Powell, Spence Powell, Ethan Powell, Jayden Bales, Courtney Swenson and Alex Perry; two great-grandchildren, Braelyn Perry and Oakleigh Swenson; a sister, Betty W. Rickard of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and his former wife, Margaret Owens Costner. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Crosswell Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday at Crosswell Baptist Church. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [2, 3, 4]
