Joseph Kershaw Locklair
Joe Locklair DARLINGTON - Joseph "Joe" Kershaw Locklair, 80, of Darlington, SC died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at McLeod Hospice House following a prolonged illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6 in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with burial in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6-8 p.m at the funeral home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Locklair, 3795 Byrnes Boulevard, Florence. Mr. Locklair was born December 27, 1931 in Lee County, son of the late Clarence and Voncile Folsom Locklair and was married to Joanne Broach Locklair. Mr. Locklair served in the US Army Artillery during the Korean War. He retired from DuPont after 31 years of service and most recently operated Indigo Marsh Nursery in Florence. He was a member of the Cashua Church of God, where he served faithfully as a member of the Board of Trustees. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons: Dale Locklair and his wife Deborah, David Locklair and his wife Kathy, and Randy Locklair and special friend, Claudia Marshall; two step-daughters, Dorothy Byrd, and Fran Kelly, and her husband Donald; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Laura Locklair, Ashley and Shaun Futch, Jessica and Christian Brunetti; grandchildren, David and Jonathan Locklair, Kaitee and Dru Turbeville, and Billy and Maureen Byrd , Margo Kinard, and Jerry Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Trevor and Caroline Futch, and Jaden and Evan Brunetti; and brother-in-law, David L. Broach, Jr. Mr. Locklair is predeceased by his brothers, Grover and Floyd Locklair, and sisters, Geraldine Rollins, Lorraine McKinnon, and Bessie McCoy.
