BENENHALEY Frank Luther Benenhaley, 79, husband of Lillie Bea Hudson Benenhaley, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Luther Ray Benenhaley Sr. and Alma Virginia Benenhaley Mims. Mr. Benenhaley was a charter member of Green Acres Assembly of God. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 341/2 years and was retired from Campbell Soup Co. Survivors besides his wife include five children, Deborah Baker (Larry), Frank Glenn Benenhaley (Susan), John Allen Benenhaley and Jeannie Hawkins (Ronnie), all of Sumter, and Molly Powell (Ira) of Flat Rock, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bobby Mims, Andy Benenhaley, Belford Benenhaley and Harry Benenhaley; and a sister, Alice Winfered. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Benenhaley Jr. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Revs. Donnie Collins, Michael Bowman and Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
