  HIST	Richard Strother Gerald married Dorothy Alvina and was a planter. In 1835 he disposed of most of his land, and records show that he was ill the last ten years of his life and died of consumption. He was referred to as the Honorable Richard Gerald in the obituary of his daughter. Richard and his brother Benjamin Gerald were the only two children of Gabriel Gerald that did not move to Amite County, Mississippi.
