| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina MADELINE HODGE DAVIS Posted Wednesday, July 2, 2025 4:11 pm Madeline Hodge Davis, 85, widow of Clarence B. Davis Jr., died Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey, Sumter. Born Jan. 23, 1940, in Gainesville, Florida, she was a daughter of the late James T. Hodge and the late Edna Alene Nesbitt Hodge. Mrs. Davis retired from Charm House Fabrics. Survivors include three children, Mike Davis, Leighanna Davis (Craig Hall) and Ryan Davis; her very special grandson, Allen Davis (Shjava), and granddaughter, Jessie Jones (Wesley); several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon Hodge and Hubert Hodge (Kim); two sisters, Joyce Hansen (Earl) and Peggy Johnson (Joel); and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Luther A. “Luke” Davis; and three sisters, Barbara Berry, Modene Barkley and Linda Geddings. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements. [1, 2, 4, 5] | |
