NONA EVANS REAVES
TURBEVILLE -- Mrs. Nona Evans Reaves, 85, widow of George W. Reaves, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at NHC Healthcare of Sumter.
Born July 2, 1924, in Mayesville, she was the daughter of the late Ellison Lafayette and Hattie Eugenia Hodge Evans. She was a retired inspector and seamstress from Manning Manufacturing Co., a United States Army veteran and a member of Turbeville Southern Methodist Church and the Marion Gamble Missions Circle.
Surviving are a sister, Felicia Rutter of Lynchburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; a sister; and special niece, Brenda Godwin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Dr. Larry Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in Brewington Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Manning.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
