DICKSON HOLLY HILL - Raymon Junius Dickson, 81, of Holly Hill, widower of Frances Bozeman Dickson, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, in a North Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Dr. David Brien and the Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. Mr. Dickson was born in Sumter, a son of the late Junius James and Marie Jones Dickson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, and the Guyton Sunday School Class. Mr. Dickson was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth D. Webber; grandson, Rob Ayers Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Caleb Ayers. Surviving are four daughters, Gayle D. Austin and Janice M. Dickson, both of Holly Hill, Joyce D. Ayers of Gaston and Rita H. Dickson of Summerville; a son, Raymon J. Dickson Jr. of Shallotte, N.C.; a brother, Randall Dickson of Orangeburg; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Avinger Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Youth Fund, P.O. Box 235, Holly Hill, SC 29059.
