Robert Hyman ELGIN - A funeral service for Robert L. Hyman, 70, of Elgin will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday September 5, 2012 in the chapel of Kornegay & Moseley Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Dr. George Crow officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with military rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth Children's Home, P.O. Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250 or Carolina Children's Home, P. O. Box 4465, Columbia, SC 29240. Mr. Hyman passed away Saturday September 1, 2012 at Providence Hospital. Born in Pamplico, SC, he was the son of the late Leo W. Hyman and Mattie L. Hyman Cain. Mr. Hyman was a graduate of Pamplico High School, a U.S. Navy Veteran and was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church. He was a Master Mason and member of Dentsville Masonic Lodge No. 398 and Dentsville Order of the Eastern Star No. 273. Mr. Hyman was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Goff Swamp Hunting Club. Mr. Hyman is survived by his loving wife, Amelia Sanders Hyman; children, Debbie (Raymond) Scott of Hawaii and Michael Lewis (Jennifer) Hyman of Elgin; grandchildren, Matthew and Wesley Hyman of Elgin and Lindsey and Kendall Scott of Hawaii; sisters, Frances Hyman (James Earl) of Batesburg-Leesville, Elsie Cox of Effingham, SC and Helena Sandy of North Carolina; Mr. Hyman was preceded in death by brothers, David, Detroy, Thomas and Leo Hyman, Jr. and sisters, Rebecca Woods, Grace Hyman, Ellis Steele, Nellie Harrell and Virginia Hepler.
