Bilton Sr., died on Monday, May 11, 2020, at NHC Healthcare in Sumter. Born on June 6, 1931, in Gilbert, she was a daughter of the late Dewey S. and Olivia Prescott Taylor. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and served in the crisis center. She started the children's ministry at Westside Baptist Church and worked with the youth and the Young at Heart. Mrs. Bilton was formerly employed at Southern Bell Telephone Co., NBSC, the Sumter SPCA and Shuler's Drive-In. Survivors include four children, Ann Bilton Skinner, Al Bilton (Beverly), Mike Bilton and James W. Bilton (Donna), all of Sumter; grandchildren, Stephanie Drayton (Frank), Jason Bilton (Bridgett), Rikki Williams (Kevin), Ryan Bilton, Michelle Lampinen (Justin) and James Bilton; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wyman Taylor (Ann) of Sumter. She was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Frances "Cricket" Chappell; and a brother, James "Bo" Taylor. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Aaron Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church, 554 Pinewood Road, Sumter, SC 29154.
