JACK GAINEY Posted Tuesday, January 31, 2017 6:00 am Jack Gainey, our beloved, dedicated, forever faithful, loving father, departed this life on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017. Born on Nov. 29, 1930, he was a son of the late Leroy Gainey and Amy Hendrix Gainey Kirven. Mr. Gainey was a retired roofing contractor and member of the Church of God for 40 years. His passions were gardening, helping anyone in need, reading and studying God's word, and spending time with his beloved family. Mr. Gainey is survived by two sons, Jack Timothy Gainey and Mark Christopher Gainey, both of Sumter; three daughters, Belinda Gainey-Vrana of Rock Hill, Deborah Gainey-McTernin (Walter) and Karen Gainey-Buddin (Edward "Bud"), both of Sumter; seven grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Margaret Kirven and Shelby Jean Dollard (Tommy), both of Sumter. Mr. Gainey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Mildred Lucille Gainey; a son, Wendell Eric Gainey; a daughter, Pamela Gail Gainey; and five brothers, Harvey Gainey, Ervin Gainey, James Gainey, Robert Gainey and D.L. Gainey. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tom Kerry officiating. Private burial will be in the Gainey Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
