Roberson Sr., who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in Leesburg, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Page Theus Funeral Home, 914 W. Main St., Leesburg. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home. Born in Florence County, Mr. Roberson, a retired construction superintendent, moved to the Leesburg area more than 20 years ago from Cocoa, Fla. He was employed in the construction field for more than 40 years and retired in 2006. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed farming, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, L. Ralph Roberson and Mary Lee Roberson; two brothers, James David and Leon Rhudell Roberson; and a sister, Mary Dean Roberson. Mr. Roberson is survived by his wife of 20 years, Joan; son, Joseph A. Roberson Jr. of Navarre, Fla.; daughter, Jennifer Roberson Barger of Melbourne, Fla.; stepsons, Tim Bageard and Skip Flis, both of Leesburg; brother, Ralph Lee Roberson of Turbeville; six sisters, Judy Horn of Brandon, Miss., Ginawease Schlegel of Las Vegas, Nev., Patricia Molina of El Paso, Texas, Cynthia Querin of Ridgeland, Miss., Debra Roberson of Port Orange, Fla., and Marcia Roberson of Turbeville; and four grandchildren, Riley, Derin and Brody Roberson, and Grant Barger.
