Bradley Algie "Aggie" Porter Bradley, 90, widow of Alfred Bradley Sr., and daughter of the late Deacon Dave and Annie Sumpter-Porter, was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Sumter County. She departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Bradley was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. As a child, she attended Joshua Baptist Church, Dalzell. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, gardening, cooking and assisting others in need. Leaving to cherish her memories are two daughters, Virginia (Jerry) Ardis and Jenette (Freddie) Goodley, who was also her devoted and loving caregiver; two sons, Timothy Alexander (Willie) Bradley and Alfred Bradley Jr., also her caregiver, all of Sumter; stepchildren, Janie Gaffe, Albert (Debbie) Bush, Alfred Bush and Vern Anderson, all of Williston; a sister, Nancy Porter of Sumter; sister-in-law, Doretha Porter of Dalzell; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces whom she loved as daughters, Maybelle Oaks and Dorothy Singleton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Pearlie Mae Porter-Lowery and Bonnie W. Bradley; grandchildren, Herbert Ardis and Tracie Laverne Lowery; six brothers, Thomas, Dave, Joseph, James, Isiah and John Porter; and four sisters, Alma Mitchell, Rosa Lee Ballard, Pauline Andrews and Ruth Colclough. Viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Job's Mortuary Inc. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Second Presbyterian Church (USA) with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Gloria J. Williams, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dorothy Maple, the Rev. Dr. Kim Ferguson, the Rev. Debra A. Bradley and the Rev. Dr. Mary Harvin. Interment will follow in Joshua Baptist Church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon Saturday for viewing until the hour of service. The family is receiving friends at the home, 130 Victory Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
