Clark FLORENCE — Mildred Wilson Clark, 80, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was born in Effingham, a daughter of the late Charles Montgomery and Essie Waddell Wilson, and was the wife of the late James McCoy Clark. Mildred and her late husband managed the Julia IV, Capri, and Crown theaters. Mildred was active at Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school in the children’s department. She served as a volunteer at McLeod Regional Medical Center for many years. She was preceded in death by her five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her three sons, James McCoy Clark Jr. (Betsy) of Mooresville, N.C., Kenneth Wilson Clark (Phyllis) of Sumter and Timothy Dale Clark (Ann) of Gainesville, Fla.; and her daughter, Ronnah Clark Mahon (Wes) of Florence. Her grandchildren include Ashley Clark Morris (Jon Lee), James McCoy Clark III (Shannon), Kenneth Wilson Clark Jr. (Jessica), Kelly Clark Brown (Josh), Meredith Mahon Morris (Brent), Frank Weston Mahon IV, William Todd Clark and Joshua Davis Clark. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and three sisters, Edith Allen and Betty Dennis (Charles) of Florence and June Williford of Columbia. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Waters-Powell Funeral Home, 400 S. Dargan St., Florence, and other times at 1666 Westview Drive, Florence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church, 915 Cherokee Drive, Florence. Interment will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in Florence National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church. The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Methodist Manor as well as all of the doctors and nurses at McLeod MICU.
