Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Thomas David Thames and the late Louise Brassell Thames. She was a member of the First Church of God. Survivors include two daughters, Tami K. Griffin and her husband, Terry Griffin, of Sumter and Keleigh M. Corbett and her husband, Carl T. Corbett, of Irmo; three grandchildren, Hannah E. Griffin, Noah R. Griffin and Molly M. Corbett; and a sister, Betty T. McCraw and her husband, Ted McCraw, of Spartanburg. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Lawrence L. Thames, John L. Thames, Thomas D. "Pinky" Thames Jr., Milton L. Thames, Hugh W. Thames, and Richard H. Thames; and a sister, Maybelle T. Elmore. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Church of God with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the First Church of God Building Fund, 318 N. Wise Drive, Sumter, SC 29150. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.  [1, 2]
