Russell Jr., 80, widower of Rosalee Anderson Russell, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Berkley County, he was a son of Sara Metts Russell and the late Talmadge T. Russell Sr. Mr. Russell was a member of New Start Community Church of the Nazarene. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from GSX Landfill. Surviving are his mother of Sumter; six sons, Paul Russell and Talmadge T. Russell III, both of Charleston, John Russell, Edward Floyd, Roland Floyd, and H. D. Floyd, all of Sumter; five daughters, Catherine Tobias of St. Stephen, Yvonne Russell of Summerville, Betty Russell and Wanda Simpson, both of Sumter, and Rhonda David of Chesterfield; one brother, Leroy Dale Russell of Garden City, Mo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the New Start Community Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4380 Bush Branch Road.
