Vivian Townsley, granddaughter of Fortunatus and Sarah Bryan, died peacefully in Heritage Nursing Home, Soldotna, AK on April 4, 2003, just 6 days shy of her 96th birthday. She had suffered from Alzheimers for seven years.
Her body was transported to Tucson, Arizona so that the family could fulfill her wish to be buried next to her husband who had died 42 years previously. Attending the graveside service at South Lawn Cemetery on April 9th, 2003,were family members Bob and Rubye Townsley, Sherry Bradshaw, Darla and Marvin Towell, Kellie and Ethan Towell, Jennifer, Dan, Michael and Megan Eskue all from Soldotna, Alaska; Charles and Ruby Townsley from Oracle, AZ; Gary and Barbara Townsley, from Phoenix, AZ; Jim, Alice and Randy Townsley, from Albuquerque, NM; Mike, Michael, and Genna Townsley and Pamela Gullin from Junction City, Oregon; and Laura Townsley, from Turlock, CA. Also attending were Don and Oleta Eskue and Gary and Linda Terbell from Willcox, AZ. The service was conducted by son Robert Townsley. An appropriate poem was supplied by Jennifer Eskue and read by Marvin Towell. Vivian's favorite song "Pearly White City" was sung by her family. Her casket was lovingly borne to the gravesite by grandsons Mike Townsley, Gary Townsley, Marvin Towell, great-grandsons Michael Townsley, Dan Eskue, and great-great-grandson Michael Eskue
