| HIST | of Oswego, South Carolina ADVILLE WINKLES WEATHERFORD Posted Wednesday, November 30, 2022 6:00 am Adville Winkles Weatherford, 88, widow of Col. Edwin Gillard Weatherford, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late David Milton Winkles and Bertha Abbiegaile Stafford Winkles. Mrs. Weatherford, a graduate of Winthrop College, was a retired elementary and special education school teacher and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Oswego. Surviving are two sons, Douglas Edwin Weatherford, wife Karen, grandchildren Brent of Orlando, Florida, and Steven of Jacksonville, Florida, and Anthony Scott Weatherford, and wife Laura, of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren, Jenna Bass, husband Ryan Bass, and great-grandson Sawyer and great-granddaughter Marnie of Long Beach, Mississippi, and Bryan Weatherford, wife Brandyn of Birmingham, Alabama; a brother, David M. Winkles, wife Cass, of Greenville; and a sister, Marilyn Ham of Sumter. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Whited officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery adjacent to the church. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service, and a reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the burial.
