Johnson awarded him and his family a certificate for distinguishing themselves in furthering the cause of better farm living in South Carolina. He was chairman of the USDA Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Board for 31 years. In 1992 he received a certificate of appreciation from the S. C. Agriculture Stabilization Conservation committee for 35 years of service to Lee County. He owned White Fertilizaer and was co-owner and president of White and Joyner Trading Company in Bishopville, South Carolina. He remained active in the farming community until his retirement in 1987. at death- she had 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild [1] |
