Born in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Annie Geddings. Mr. Geddings was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and was a retired building contractor. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Surviving are a son, Mickey Geddings of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Gwen Nash of Columbia and Teresa Volking of Maryland; two brothers, Dwight Geddings of Pinewood and Belton Geddings of Columbia; two sisters, Daisy Kolb of Elloree and Vivian Boyer of Florida; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a loving friend, Betty Baker, and her children, Tina Baker Parker, Linda Baker and Anthony H. Baker, all of Sumter; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
