Watford Sr., 87, husband of the Rev. Mary Nesbitt Watford, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born on April 2, 1933, in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Leveen Hart Watford and Polly Spires Watford. He retired from Vaughn-Bassett Furniture Co. and was a member of New Testament Lighthouse Church. Survivors include his wife of 65Ѕ years; two sons, Willis Watford Jr. (Mary) of Sumter and Ronnie Watford (Tammy) of Columbus, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Frankie Watford (Jessica), Adam Watford (Katherine), Ethan Watford, Wyatt Watford, Eddie Reece (Miranda), Matthew Reece (Savannah), Josh Reece, Brett Norris (Megan) and Tori Wycoff; 12 great-grandchildren, Jackson Watford, Payton Watford, Brice Watford, Sydney Watford, Abby Watford, Lexy Watford, Hannah Reece, Madalynn Reece, Kerston Norris, Jackson Norris, Tanner Norris and Jordan Norris; and a brother, L.H. "Bud" Watford of Oswego. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Reece; son-in-law, Lamar Reece; and siblings, Edna Powell, Woodrow Watford, Johnny Watford, Peggy Smith, Shirley Marsh, Sadie Galloway and Eunice Dority. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Clyde Chan and the Rev. Mark Huggins officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
