KENNEDY Posted: Friday, March 28, 2008 12:00 am KINGSTREE -- Lois Corbett Kennedy, 77, wife of L. Kenneth Kennedy, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital, after an illness. Mrs. Kennedy was born Oct. 22, 1930, in Clarendon County, a daughter of the late John Ashley Corbett Sr. and Ola Thigpen Corbett. She was a former employee of Sunbeam-Aircap Industries and a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by a son, Allen Kennedy; brother, John A. Corbett Jr.; and sisters, Rounette Baker and Betty Lou Herring. Surviving in addition to her husband, Kenneth, of Kingstree are a daughter, Fay K. (Terry) Benton of New Zion; sons, Dale (Tammy) Kennedy of Memphis, Tenn., and Alvin Kennedy of Manning; special daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kennedy Bowling of Kingstree; sisters, Virginia Horne of Goose Creek, Johnnie Mae Repsher, Helen Wilkes and Mary Lotwis, all of Manning; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Zion United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Williamsburg Funeral Home, 332 E. Main St., Kingstree. Memorials may be made to Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 84 Mount Vernon Road, Greeleyville, SC 29056, or New Zion United Methodist Church, 7169 Salem Road, New Zion, SC 29111.
