During the 1968 football season, he introduced the Broadway hit, “Step To The Rear and Let A Winner Lead The Way” by Elmer Bernstein. Some weeks later Coach Paul Dietzel wrote new words and Pritchard wrote a new arrangement of this music; it was introduced as the new Carolina Fight Song. “The Fighting Gamecocks Lead The Way” is now in its 37th year as the official fight song. at death- he had 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildsons and 2 great-granddaughters [1] |
