Mr. Hinson was born in Oakland, Calif., and resided most of his younger life in Jacksonville, Fla. He retired from the U.S. Navy as an electricians mate chief petty officer after 20 years of service. He was employed as an electrician with Dynaric Inc. Survivors include three children, Jessica Hinson of Jacksonville, Paul Hinson and Katie Hinson, both of Virginia Beach; his father, Louie C. Hinson Sr. of Sumter; a sister, Carla Hinson of Sumter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Louise Dierich Hinson. A service of remembrance was celebrated at 3 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Arlington National Cemetery.
