Reports said a Sumter firefighter was first to arrive on scene and continued giving CPR until Sumter County Emergency Medical Services arrived and took the toddler to Tuomey. • According to Scott, Thursday stated out as a fun day at the pool for family and friends. • “There were several adults and several children constantly around the pool,” Scott said. “We’re really not sure what happened.” • Reports said the owner of the pool called 911 and said the toddler fell in the pool, which contained about 4 1/2-foot-deep water, while several people were swimming. • Family and friends described the little girl Thursday as beautiful, adorable and feisty. • “She was a real charmer,” said Norma Brooks, a friend of the family. “She was a beautiful blonde. The most adorable child you’ve ever seen. God just wanted another angel in heaven.” • Scott remembered the toddler as a “good baby who never cried or fussed.” • “She was the most beautiful child,” Scott said. “She was always happy, and you always saw her playing with her (4-year-old) sister. They were always together.” • Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory of Manning. • A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Paxville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Paxville Cemetery. [2, 3] |
