Ms. Hodge was born in Sumter, a daughter of the late Pharo and Maude McLeod Avins. She retired from Belk Department Store with 35 years of service. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Hodge Kolb and her husband, Pat, of Sumter, Stacy Hodge Jordan and her husband, Kevin, of Sumter and Jackie Hodge Baugh and her husband, Henry, of Cleveland, Texas; one brother, Jimmy Avins of Sumter; four sisters, Esther Mae Ardis, June Morris, Letha Barkley and Jewell Griffin, all of Sumter; four grandchildren, Tim McLeod, Stephanie McLeod, Emily Kolb and Kaitlyn Jordan; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by Buck Avins, Russell Avins, Easter Ardis, Girnell Brown and Inez Laws. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Burgess officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m., today at Bullock Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Tuomey Foundation, 115 N. Sumter St., Sumter, SC 29150.
