| HIST | of Florence, South Carolina JOSEPH M. PACK JR. Posted Wednesday, August 31, 2022 6:00 am Joseph M. Pack Jr., 82, of Florence, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022. Mr. Pack was born in Sumter, a son of the late Ellie Hudson Pack and Joseph M. Pack Sr. He graduated from Edmunds High School in South Carolina. Mr. Pack served with the U.S. National Guard and was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ann Harrell Pack; and brothers, Hazel W. Pack, Benny A. Pack and Alvin R. Pack. Surviving are his sons, Joseph (Deanna) Daren Pack and Ashley Bryan Pack, both of Florence; daughters, Melissa P. (Phillip) Capps of Florence and Cynthia Renee Pack of Columbia; grandchildren, Phillip Brandon Capps, Meghan Leann Capps, Dana Nicole (Matthew) Pack, Joseph Paul (Morgan) Pack, Ashley Lynn (Adam) Pack and Tyler David (Hannah) Pack; great-grandchildren, Bailey Nicole Morris, Ayden Grayson Kelly, Jackson Alton Capps and Drayton Bryan Tolliver; brother, William E. (Virginia) Pack; sisters-in-law, Melanie Pack, Shirley Pack, Dale Pack and Marilyn (Malvin) Anderson of Timmonsville; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
