| HIST | Date Published: December 21, 2008 LILIAN W. HIGH Lilian W. High, 73, widow of Leo Corles High, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at Lexington Medical Center. Born in Liverpool, England, she was a daughter of the late William Wilson and the late Rose Evelyn Roberts Wilson. Mrs. High was a member of The Church of the Holy Comforter, the Daughters of the King, and the British Wives Club. She was retired from AAFES at Shaw Air Force Base. Survivors include four daughters, Julie Ann High of Columbia, Tina Louise Bryant (David) of Blythewood, Linda Lee Follin (James) of Sumter and Patricia Lynn Bacon (Bill) of Columbia; four granddaughters, Heather Michele Follin, Brittany Nicole Bryant, Victoria Rose Bacon and Katie Elizabeth Bacon; a grandson, Kyle Andrew Bacon; two sisters, June Rose Dunn and Carol Bond both of Liverpool; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews of Liverpool. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy William High and a sister, Ellesy Patricia Wilson. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Church of the Holy Comforter with the Rev. John Barr, the Rev. Hamilton Smith, and the Rev. Charles Walton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church of the Holy Comforter, P.O. Box 338, Sumter, SC 29151 or to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O. Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077-7491. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Lexington Medical Center Fourth North Tower Staff for all of their care and compassion, and also to Mrs. High's church family for all of their love, prayers, and support.
