Julius Alexander Thames Sr., 73, husband of Vickie Elizabeth Thames, died on Friday, July 22, 2016, at his home.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Miles Sr. and Susie Weatherly Thames. Mr. Thames was of the Presbyterian faith. He was retired from Crescent Tool Co.
Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Briton Thames of Sumter and Jody Thames of Columbia; a stepson, Walter Thames Jr. (Hope) of Sumter; a brother, Miles Thames Jr. (Susie) of Hartsville; a sister, Deloris Thames McCoy (Elvin) of Sumter; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.
