| HIST | Jerry Cox Jerry Allen Cox, 61, husband of Ellen Boyce Cox, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Bishopville, he was a son of the late George Washington Cox and Ruby Boykin Cox. He was formerly employed at Phibrotech. Survivors include his wife; two children, Lisa Maynor of Sumter and Jerry “Bubba” Cox Jr. of San Francisco, Calif.; two step-children, Tina Ackerman (Mike) and Will Davis, both of Sumter; grandchildren, Eric Westfall of Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, Alex Westfall of Camden, Keith Maynor of Sumter, Bernalynn Marsh of Florida, and Makenzie Davis of Georgia; two sisters, Phyllis Tschorn (Bill) of Sumter and LaReda Farmer of Bishopville; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Harris. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Billy Tschorn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel and other times at the home, 1711 Broome St. The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice Care of SC, Rose Marie, Kym, and Bridgett for all of their care and compassion.
