Date Published: August 21, 2008 BENJAMIN PROSSER Sr. SUMTER – Benjamin Prosser Sr., 73, husband of Lily Coker Prosser, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born April 14, 1935, in Lake City, he was a son of the late Joseph and Lecoulia Daniels Prosser. He was a retired truck driver for Georgia-Pacific for 25 years. He was of the Protestant faith. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; three daughters, Debbie Nicholson and her husband, Jeff, of Kernersville, N.C., Ellen Wadford and her husband, Jimmy, of Sumter and Lisa Hyde of Sumter; two sons, Benjamin "Benji" Prosser Jr. of Sumter and Billy Prosser and his wife, Kate, of Chadbourne, N.C.; two brothers, Richard Prosser and his wife, Margaret, of Russellville and William Prosser and his wife, Joyce, of Olanta; four sisters, Mary P. Bellflower of Manning, Joanne Hanniford and her husband, Dwight, and Patricia Collins and her husband, Kenneth, all of Sumter, and Lizzie Feagin and her husband, Veingro, of Kingstree; nine grandchildren, Shannon Nicholson, Ben Nicholson and Kady Nicholson, all of Kernersville, Spec. 4 Heather Nicholson of Fort Carson, Colo., Robert J. "R.J." Ross Jr., Brittany Ross and Benjamin Prosser III, all of Sumter, and Ashley Prosser and Rebekah Prosser, both of Chadbourne; and a great-grandchild, Dustan Harley Nicholson of Kernersville. He was preceded in death by a brother, H.J. Prosser, and a sister, Minnie Trusley. A special thanks to Southern Care Hospice of Florence and to Kathy Strickland and Rosa McClain. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning and at other times at the residence of Lily Prosser, 8055 Summerton Hwy., Pinewood. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Evergreen Memorial Park in Sumter. Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 N.
