  HIST	of Cayce, South Carolina News - Obituaries Saturday, Aug. 08, 2009 Elizabeth “Liz” Elmore CAYCE — Funeral service for Elizabeth Deas “Liz” Elmore will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 9, 2009, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, P.O. Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29201 or the Humane Society-HSPCA, 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209. Mrs. Elmore died Friday, August 7, 2009. Born in Lee County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Heyward Henry Deas and Lillie Belle Outlaw Deas. A resident here since 1971, she loved gardening and her pets. She was a member of Edenwood Garden Club. Mrs. Elmore was a wonderful and loving mother. Surviving are her daughters, Robin Elmore and Raven Elmore of Cayce; son, Theo Edward Elmore, III “Eddie” and partner, Bob, of Holiday, Fla.; sisters, Grace Prescott and Ellen Purdy of Sumter; brothers, Lavern Deas of Sumter, Billy Deas of Florence, George Deas of Tenn., Jimmy Deas of Florida, Ronald Deas of Sumter and Donald Deas of Hawaii; also numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and six granddogs; also her special friends, LeMae Miller and Sabrina Walker. Mrs. Elmore was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne Deas and Herman Deas, and her former husband, Theo Edward Elmore, Jr. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Palmetto Health Hospice.
