| HIST | of Summerton, South Carolina GEORGIA MARIE CAMPBELL Posted: Friday, August 1, 2014 12:00 am Georgia Marie Morgan Campbell, age 78, beloved wife of the late Master Sgt. William Ray Campbell, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born on Dec. 1, 1935, in Minter City, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late George James and Mary Mozell Rae Morgan. Marie married William Ray Campbell on Feb. 1, 1958, in Greenville, Mississippi. She accompanied him on many military assignments in Texas, Taiwan, Michigan, Okinawa, North Carolina, and finally retired in Sumter at Shaw Air Force Base. Marie enjoyed camping and was a longtime member of the "F" Troop of the Good Sam Camping Club. In addition, she loved bluegrass music and attended many festivals with her late husband and camping club friends. She spent many years living at Santee and there she developed many longtime friendships. Marie was the matriarch of her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving are two sons, John Lewis Campbell and his wife, Patricia, of Altanta, Georgia, and Master Sgt. Alan Ray Campbell of O'Fallon, Illinois; one daughter, Rose Marie Walker of Sumter; three brothers, Joseph Morgan and his wife, Carolyn, of Elyria, Ohio, Allen Morgan and his wife, Peggy, of Elyria and George James Morgan Jr. of Sardis, Mississippi; one sister, Mary Ann Neal and her husband, Donald, of Como, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Brandie Marie Henderson and her husband, Mark, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jonathan William Campbell and his girlfriend, McCall Anderson, of Columbia and Holly Nichole Walker and her fianc , Edwin "Russ" Rotan II, of Summerton; one great-grandchild, Paris Marie Henderson; and her beloved dachshund, Ginger. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Dolly Chapin. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bullock Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Sumter SPCA, 1140 S.
