Linda Darneil Geddings Bryant, 63, wife of Mack Bartlette Jr., and widow of John W. Bryant, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Bernice Lowery Geddings. Mrs. Bryant enjoyed karaoke, dancing and playing bingo. Survivors besides her husband of Sumter include three children, Johnny Bryant (Janet), Scott Bryant (Mary Beth) and Kimberly Bryant, all of Sumter; six grandchildren, Courtney Racer, Lindsey Bryant, Haley Bryant, Jonathan Bryant, Justin Lee and Amber Lee; five stepchildren, Mack Bartlette III, Mark Bartlette, Matthew Bartlette, Mason Bartlette and Tina B. Baker, all of Sumter; nine step-grandchildren; two sisters, Cynthia Geddings of Sumter and Debra Roe of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, James Larry of Sumter; and one special friend and sister, Kathy Kennedy. She was preceded in death by a son, James Dudley Blakely Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Turner officiating. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Bryant, Steven Bryant, Eddie Kennedy, L.E. Mooneyham, J.D. Norton and Bryan McElveen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 4320 Pond Loop Road.
