Born on July 31, 1952, in Bamberg County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Robert Carpenter and the late Margie Kathleen Gordon. Survivors include her 12 brothers and sisters, William "Bill" Lee Carpenter, Albert Carpenter, Billy Carpenter, Robert Carpenter, Sherry Coulter (Earl), Darlene Overby, Sue Timmons, Violet Parnell, Brenda Beasley, Judy Graham (David), Barbara Jordan (Mickey) and Angela Carpenter; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with Pastor Phil Simun and Mark Sneider officiating.
