Salka, died on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at her home. Born on Sept. 25, 1961, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Albert Rose Jr. and the late Alberta Arledge O'Neal. She was a counselor and volunteer teacher at the Girl's Home. Her grandchildren were her life. Survivors include her husband of Summerton; two children, Christopher Salka of Syracuse, New York, and Michael Salka (Amanda) of Summerton; two grandchildren, Cotton Salka and Vidalia Salka; a brother, Billy Rose of Bishopville; and a sister, Judy Smith (Ben) of Charlotte, North Carolina. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Eddie Fleming officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 607, Manning, SC 29102.
