Burgess, 82, passed away Friday, June 6, 2008, in Palmetto Health Baptist. A private graveside service for the family will be held in Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chapin, SC. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Burgess was born August 14, 1925, in Chicago, IL. She retired from L.M. Berry Co., Dayton, OH, and was the former owner of G.G.’s Artistry in Flowers from 1991-2003. Mrs. Burgess is survived by her three children, Tylette Westnedge, Harriette “Josie” Hatton and Earl Glenn Burgess; daughter-in-law, Harriet Hatchell; son-in-law, Ed Westnedge; eight grandchildren and spouses and her eight great-grandchildren.
