LYNN GEORGE Norma Lynn McCathern George, 54, wife of John Henry "Hank" George, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of Elizabeth Wells McCathern and the late Daniel Addison McCathern. Mrs. George was a member of Unity Baptist Fellowship Church and was retired from the South Carolina Department of Social Services. Surviving are her husband; her mother; two brothers, Daniel A. McCathern Jr. and Ralph F. McCathern and wife, Janice; one nephew, Ryan Caraway; and one niece, Hayleigh McCathern all of Sumter. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Pete Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Johnnie Gibbs, Harvey McDonald, Randy Campbell, George Campbell, Ryan Caraway and Todd McDonald. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her mother, 527 Carrol Drive.
