Ronald Dean "Ronnie" Davis, 63, widower of Mary Ferst Davis, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Wilbur Blackwell Davis Sr. and Lillie Eloise Kennedy Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Graham Baptist Church and retired from Best Lumber and Millwork. He was a loving, generous, and caring son, brother and uncle. Survivors include two brothers, Wilbur B. "Will" Davis Jr. of Wedgefield and K. Wayne Davis (Dale) of Orangeburg; two nieces, Cam Davis Bowden (Charlie) of Sumter and Amy Davis Westbury of Orangeburg; two nephews, Ken Davis (Debbie) of Orangeburg and Shawn Medford (Pam) of Lexington; and a special friend, Kathy Jennings of Sumter. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Davis Cemetery with the Rev. John Patrick and the Rev. Paul Goff officiating. The family will receive friends at the home, 65 Radcliff Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to the Davis Cemetery Association c/o Linda Davis Burress, 4195 U.S. 521 South, Sumter, SC 29153.
