CHARLES R. TENNANT
Charles Raymond "Ray" Tennant, 67, husband of Emily McLeod Tennant, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at his home.
Born in Manning, he was a son of Eunice Collins Tennant Bryant and the late Ernest Tennant. Mr. Tennant was the owner of Sumter Aero Applicators and Tennant's Cabinets, and was co-owner of Tennant's Residential Construction.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years; his mother of Sumter; two children, Julie Tennant and Danny Tennant (Selma), both of Sumter; three brothers, Donald Tennant (Alicia) of Petersburg, Va., Robbie Tennant of Manning and Jerry Tennant (Mary) of Sumter; two sisters, Barbara Jean Haley of Manning and Nancy Szakal of Augusta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Dixie T. Allen (Leon) and Heather M. Tennant and her fiancé, Chris Hatfield, both of Sumter; and a great-grandchild, Matthew Drake Allen.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest LeGrand Tennant.
Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Pinewood Cemetery with the Rev. Donnie Collins and the Rev. Randy Collins officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home, 2412 Pipkin Road.
