Carton Morris, passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2009. Born Feb. 19, 1937, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Josie Huggins. Mrs. Morris was a former member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a 1956 graduate of Edmunds High School. She was formerly employed by the S.C. National Bank of Sumter and retired from the Worthen Bank of Little Rock, Ark. After retiring, she loved cooking, working on crafts, and adored spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, James C. Morris II (Deana) and Dwayne Morris (Melody), both of Sherwood; two grandchildren, Caleb Morris and Katelynn Burdiek; two sisters, Margaret H. Nichols of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Joline H. Warr (John) of Sumter; and a brother, Raymond Huggins (Oveita) of Sumter. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock, Ark. [2, 3] | |
