| HIST | Josephine Beasley LAMAR — Josephine “Jo” Robertson Beasley, age 70, died Wednesday night, January 27, 2010, from injuries sustained in a automobile accident. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment following in Cypress Cemetery. Ms. Beasley was the daughter of Emma Mae Beasley Robertson and the late Marvin Robertson. She had retired from Southern Bell as a telephone operator. A loving mother and grandmother, she was the sustenance of her family. She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to her mother of Bishopville, are her daughter, Debbie (Timmy) Windham of Lamar; her son, Michael (Shawna) Hill of Florence; grandchildren, Cheryl Windham, Crystal W. (Brad) Duke and Landon Chace Hill; great-grandsons, Ryan Timothy Dority and James Braden Duke; special friend, Don Thigpen of Bishopville; and two sisters, Shirley Grooms and Janice Robertson, both of Bishopville. She was preceded in death by brothers, Marvin “Pete” Robertson, Curtis Robertson and Mervis Robertson. The family will receive friends Saturday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Lamar.
