| HIST | Flora Rogers | Visit Guest Book LATTA - Flora Kate Bethea Rogers, 93, of Maitland, Florida, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Mrs. Rogers was born on August 2, 1916, in Latta, South Carolina, to the late Henry Louis and Kate Covington Bethea. A graduate of Meredith College, she taught in the Hartsville, Charleston and Beaufort, South Carolina, school systems. Flora Kate is survived by her son, Charles Nicholas (Nick) Rogers Jr. (Ellen) of Raleigh, North Carolina; her daughter, Flora Rogers Galloway (Tom) of Maitland, Florida; her granddaughter, Virginia Galloway Gentles (Peter); her grandson, Richard Charles Galloway; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Bethea Gentles; She is also survived by her loving and supportive Bethea and Rogers nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Latta United Methodist Church in Latta, SC, followed by burial in Magnolia Cemetery, Latta, SC. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Latta United Methodist Church, PO Box 95, Latta, SC 29565. Kannaday Funeral Home, Latta, SC, is in charge of the arrangements.
