Donlon Sr., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at her home. Born on Aug. 25, 1936, in Effingham, she was a daughter of the late Robert B. Hicks and Sarah Hicks Ford. She was formerly the owner of Mama's Kitchen. She attended Alice Drive Baptist Church and Smithville Pentecostal Church. Survivors include nine children, Jimmy Aycock, Shirley Simons, Danny Barkley, Donna Donlon Steele (Rudy), Thomas Donlon Jr. (Keri), Michael S. Donlon, Kerri Donlon, Michele Donlon and Kimberly Donlon Connor; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Lafond Dennis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Hicks; and a sister, Mary D. Bradley. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Donna and Rudy Steele, 795 Lang Jennings Drive.
