| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina Richard McLeod Richard Laverne McLeod, age 69, beloved husband of Gloria Jean Sikora McLeod, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at his residence in Sumter. Born Nov. 13, 1942, he was a son of the late Richard Lee and Maude Marie Lee McLeod. He was a member of the Mid Carolina and Shaw Air Force Base Gun Clubs. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Renee McLeod, and her fiance, David Geddings, of Sumter; four sisters, Shirley Freeman and her husband, Edwin, Laura McLeod, Sandra McLeod and Elaine Lowery and her husband, Bobby; and two grandchildren, Jerry Jason Hardee Jr. and Mary Beth Hardee. He is preceded in death by a son, Dr. Richard Lee McLeod II; and two sisters, Penny M. Nissley and Pandy Lynn McLeod. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, Memorial and Tributes, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216 or to the SPCA, 1140 S. Guignard Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
