CAMPBELL Sr. SUMMERTON -- Walter Louis Campbell Sr., 77, widower of Nell Spigner Campbell, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, at his home. Born March 9, 1931, in Manning, he was a son of the late John Ellis and Janie Evelyn Corbett Campbell. He attended Bob Jones University, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a retired truck driver and a member of Clarendon Baptist Church in Alcolu. Surviving are a son, Walter Louis Campbell Jr. of Summerton, and a brother, John N. Campbell, of Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Kirk Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity United Methodist Church cemetery in Alcolu. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning.
