| HIST | Lillian Chappell Lillian Frances Chappell, 88, widow of Maxcy H. Chappell, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Covenant Place in Sumter. Born in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Pearl Robertson Shiver. She was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church, and was a retired elementary school teacher. She is survived by a daughter, Joanna Young of Houston, Texas; a sister, Kitty Strickland of Winnsboro; a brother, John M. Shiver of Camden; a grandson, Brant Young of Austin, Texas, and a great-grandson, Greyson Young of Austin. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery, with the Rev. Matt Mims officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Pisgah Baptist Church, 8295 Black River Road, Rembert, SC 29128.
