Born in Sumter County, he was the son of the late John L. and Pearl Robinson Shiver. He was Farmer and retired from the State of South Carolina where he managed the farms for the correctional institutes. He was a talented craftsman. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Surviving are his sons, Sherrill Williams (Molly) of Camden and Rodger Williams (Cathy) of Camden; sister, Kitty Strickland; grandchildren, Cristy Goodwein (Justin), Carrie Denton (Scott), and Jaquie Buckelew (Sammy); and great-grandchildren, Logan, Caleigh, Campbell, Carsen, Lynsey, Sam, Trey, and Ryann Elizabeth.
