| HIST | JOHNNY C. FARMER BISHOPVILLE -- Johnny Cecil Farmer, 82, widower of the late Celia Lucille Caples Farmer, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at McCoy Memorial Nursing Center. Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late George Franklin Farmer and the late Addie Ruth Atkinson Farmer. He was retired from Reeves Brothers in Bishopville. Survivors include four sons, Douglas Farmer and his wife, Chris, of Hartsville, Marvin Farmer and his wife, Ronda, of Alcolu, Donald Farmer and his wife, Elaine, and Art Farmer and his wife, Bonnie, all of Bishopville; two daughters, Alice Farmer and Ann Baskins, both of Bishopville; a sister, Belle McGaw and her husband, Les, of Camden; two brothers, Cliff Farmer and Jimmy Farmer and his wife, Eleanor, all of Bishopville; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Perry Munn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Boykin officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home and other times at 310 Harris St. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
