Greenberg-Shenkman CHARLESTON - Patricia Ruth Greenberg and Drew Elliot Shenkman, both of Washington, D.C., were united in marriage at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Lowndes Grove Plantation. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Henry Greenberg of Florence, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Henry Davis Barnett and the late Mr. Barnett of Sumter, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Abraham Greenberg of Florence. She graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of science degree in human and organizational development. She is employed by the law firm, Hogan Lovells, in Washington, D.C., as Manager of Legal Learning for the United States. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brian Shenkman, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Irving Sherman and the late Mr. and Mrs. Murray Shenkman, all of Jacksonville, Fla. He graduated cum laude from University of Florida with a bachelor of arts degree in political science, cum laude from University of Florida Levin College of Law with a juris doctor degree, and from University of Florida College of Journalism and Mass Communications with a master of arts degree in mass communications. He is employed as an attorney with the Washington, D.C., office of Holland and Knight LLP, specializing in media law. Rabbi Aaron Sherman officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Charleston Virtuosi. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Spanish tulle fit-to-flare gown with a portrait neckline and asymmetrical draped bodice and carried an antique ivory and lace fan used by four prior generations of D'Ancona family brides. Her bouquet was wrapped in antique London family lace, and a heirloom broach belonging to her great-great-grandmother Levi adorned her hair. Laura Chapman Beacham served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Greenberg Schneider, cousin of the bride, and Martha Lilla Bratton, Kathleen Davis Bukowsky, Melissa Mitchell Erwin, Brenna Christine Flynn, Laura Berry Gentzel and Marshall Coleman Newton. Ariel Leah Shenkman and Mia Rose Shenkman, cousins of the bridegroom, were flower girls. Jeffrey Ryan Shenkman served as his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Phillip Barnett Greenberg and Dr. Andrew William Greenberg, brothers of the bride, and Eli William Fleet, Frederic Abraham Marks, Joshua Nathan Pila, Gabriel Cass Roth and Shawn Phillip Warmstein. Also participating were Louise Brody Greenberg, cousin of the bride, and Dr. Carol Olivia Carillo. The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Country Club of Charleston.
